Media Ministries
In Congo you are always confronted by huge numbers. Looking at the CECCA and all its needs and opportunities, the numbers to be reached, helped, taught and discipled are mind boggling. Media can help multiply the message.
Video projection always attracts large numbers. It was reported recently after projection of the JESUS film, that the pastor decided not to call people forward who wanted to repent. He was afraid that the crush of the numbers would result in people being trampled.
The availability of camcorders opens the way for local video production, in local languages. Amateurishness would be forgiven; there is not much competition!
Creating Talking Books - The opportunities are boundless. How many could be reached, even taught, this way? Audio cassettes produced by other missions and exist for evangelism, follow-up and Bible teaching. Low cost hand wind cassette players and digital audio players are available. All that is needed is a facilitator, organiser and finance.
Tracts (leaflets) are eagerly sought after. One copy can be read by numbers of people.
Radio is an intriguing possibility. Relatively low cost operations are now possible, but it is still a lot of money and technical skill involved. At Wamba the Roman Catholic church has an FM station and the Protestant (CECCA) church has a time each week in which they can broadcast.
