WEC is involved in serving communities throughout Central Asia. We are working in a variety of roles, alongside other Christian agencies, and with the local church where it exists.
Our desire is to see the peoples of this region come to faith in Jesus, gathered into communities of believers, and discipled so that they can disciple others.
Note: Not all countries can be identified for security reasons. If you are interested in a country in this region, contact your nearest WEC Branch office for more information.
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is situated in Central Asia and just south of Siberian Russia. This enormous country is the 9th largest in the world. Its territory is greater than that of Western Europe (2,727,300 km²). Temperatures vary from -40°C in the winter to +40°C in the summer. Most of the country is steppe (grasslands) and desert with some mountain ranges along the south-eastern and north-eastern borders.
Our vision
We want to see multiplying indigenous churches amongst the Kazakhs
and other Turkic peoples throughout Kazakhstan:

Opportunities
We are trying all means possible to see the Gospel spread in this vast country. By all means? Charitable work, teaching, business, consultancy or whatever suits you.
We encourage the creation of small businesses because this gives us an understandable reason to be in the country, and natural daily contact with both non-believers and new believers. After all, nobody questions the profit motive, and though our sights are on eternal riches it is great not having to explain that all the time to people suspicious about what we have come for. So what about the smaller towns and places that are still unreached? What kind of business can we set up there? Will you be the one to do it?
If business is not for you, then let's try another method!
How can you join us?
We are looking forward to receiving new people who are interested to come and serve with us in Kazakhstan We have both short- and long term opportunities.
